An aspiring Confectionary Artist just about sums it up. More commonly known as Taryn Elise.
With my fellow Confectionary Arts Diploma Graduates at Bonnie Gordon College
I started cake decorating in May of 2012 when feeling restless at my 9 – 5 office job, I impulsively booked a trip to study for two weeks at Planet Cake… and that was the first time I said goodbye to my life savings!
After I came home from that trip, I set up a Facebook page under the alias of ‘Sugar Push’ to share my cakes while I was learning. Still not happy with my skills, I took on more classes!
In the mean time, the Facebook page suddenly grew in likes and requests for cake orders were coming in left, right and centre!
Alas, my thirst for more knowledge only grew and I soon found myself putting the part-time business of 'Sugar Push' on hold as I travelled to Toronto, Canada and graduated (with honours!) from Bonnie Gordon College with a Diploma of Confectionary Arts. … which was the second time I said goodbye to my life savings! Now I'm a qualified... uh... Pastry Chef? Confectionary Artist? Some other sweet title? ... whatever I am, this blog follows my adventures as I explore this new and exciting world of Confectionary Art!
